In the spring of 2024, we had the opportunity to work with Nexus Louisiana for another epic event experience. This time, it was to design the 13th Annual Baton Rouge Entrepreneurs Week (BREW) wrap party! BREW is a multi-day experience for entrepreneurs and community innovators to connect and compete. This 2024 theme was “Stayin’ Alive,” which spoke to the resilience and determination of our community entrepreneurs. After a week of education and networking, our job was to craft an event that celebrated the staying power of those shaping Baton Rouge.

The evening was a testament to the power of collaboration among entrepreneurs, especially in the Baton Rouge community. We chose to partner with event vendors (who are entrepreneurs themselves) to assist us in bringing our after-hours lounge concept to life. Each played a pivotal role in creating a sense of connection and community through intricate details and high-tech experiences. Following the conference’s high-stakes pitch, we aimed to create a space where guests felt like they were entering a completely transformed environment.

To elevate the immersive experience we were crafing, we chose to collaborate with local spoken word artist, Cubs the Poet, and Wes Kennison, Creative Director and Co-Founder of Version47. Together, we created something special - a colorful, moody lounge space that reflected the spirit of the entrepreneurs being celebrated. The concept featured a unique fusion of sound and light, blending art and technology in a captivating display. As Cubs the Poet wrote, typed and delivered an anthem for Baton Rouge entrepreneurs, custom-designed screens and lights interacted and responded dynamically to the words, creating a unique and captivating experience.

We got to work with a few of our other favorite vendors such as: Eufleuria, Heirloom Cuisine, the Amazing Bacon and Flow Tribe to bring the complete vision to life. The Nexus team and BREW attendees alike got to unwind and enjoy the night after a week of hard work and professional development.

At its core, entrepreneurship is about adaptability, resilience, and creative problem-solving—and this year’s BREW embodied that spirit. Just like the entrepreneurs who spent the week refining their ideas and making connections, our closing event was a testament to the power of collaboration—where art met technology, and strategy met storytelling. With Nexus LA allowing us to lead this project, we were reminded that innovation alone isn’t enough to thrive—collaboration is the cheat code to “Stayin’ Alive.” Check out the behind the scenes of how our immersive light experience was made:
